Sage's Photos — Not Yet Public
We're giving Sage some time to settle in while we confirm her details and arrange the veterinary care she needs. We'll share her photographs publicly when we're ready to introduce her properly.
A lively little grey-and-white rescue kitten who arrived as a stray, came home as a foster and found her forever family.
Sage is the newest addition to the Sykes.pet family. A grey-and-white kitten with an enormous amount of energy, she is lively, playful and curious about just about everything.
Her exact date of birth and early history are unknown, as she was found as a stray. When she arrived, she was estimated to be under ten weeks old and had already been through a difficult start.
What began as a temporary foster arrangement quickly turned into something more permanent. Sage has now found her home, with plenty of new places to explore and two canine companions to get to know.
Sage came into our workplace as a stray. She was soaking wet, cold and covered in fleas. She was in need of warmth, comfort and a bit of reassurance.
I brought her somewhere warm, sat with her and spent some time cuddling her. After a number of long discussions, I eventually took her home to foster for the week.
Our workplace has a seven-day period before a stray can be considered for rehoming, so the original plan was to give her somewhere safe and comfortable while that period passed and the next steps were worked out.
But sometimes, foster plans have a habit of changing. Sage settled in, began to explore her new surroundings and quickly became part of the household. It wasn't long before it became clear that she wasn't just staying for a week — she was home.
Found as a stray, cold, wet and covered in fleas, and brought somewhere warm and safe.
Taken home for the seven-day fostering period while her future was being decided.
Introduced to Lilah and Rory, who are gradually settling in with their new feline housemate.
What started as a short-term foster became a permanent place in the family.
One of Sage's biggest new experiences has been meeting the two dogs already living at home: Lilah and Rory.
Lilah is still a little hesitant about her new feline housemate and is taking her time getting to know Sage. She's gradually becoming more comfortable with the new addition as they adjust to sharing a home.
Rory and Sage have become practically inseparable in their curiosity about each other! They're fascinated by one another and seem to have formed a particularly close bond already, making their growing friendship lovely to watch.
Introductions are a gradual process, but Sage is already becoming part of life alongside her two new canine companions.
As a recently rescued kitten, Sage is at the beginning of her veterinary journey. Her early history and exact age are unknown.
She has not yet been vaccinated or spayed. Her ongoing veterinary care, including these procedures, will be arranged at the appropriate time.
For now, the priority is helping her settle, keeping her safe and making sure she has everything she needs as she grows.
Sage arrived as a stray, came home as a foster and somehow managed to turn a one-week arrangement into a forever home.
Current status: Safe, loved, extremely lively and officially part of the Sykes.pet family. 🐾
